    Trend Alert: Gold.

Gold is one trend that has been carried forward from last seasons but in our society we often find it hard to wear Gold and look Hot rather than Greasy.
... a lot of people ask me 'how to wear gold'
The key word is : Balance.

... therefore if using a Gold Jacket, go for Black pants; If using Gold accessories seriously tone down your garment.
Most importantly it's no secret the best way to do gold is through accessories. Either your jewels, your bag or shoes, Even a belt.

    Mathew Williamson for H & M.

... this makes you wanna be at the high street in the queue, Sigh.

IT'S just under a month now until Matthew Williamson unleashes his vibrant and exotic print designs onto the shelves and rails of high street favourite H&M. But you don't have to wait until then to see exactly what's going to be in store as the look to the left shows.

"I wanted to create a strong urban collection fused with the brand's signature symbols and shapes. It's been fascinating to search back through my archives to isolate the most iconic pieces, then rework them for H&M," explains Williamson of the collection, which will hit around 200 H&M stores worldwide on April 23.

"Colour is one of the defining aspects of my signature style. I focussed on the iconic peacock motif seen across my collections to develop a palette of blues, chartreuse and emerald. The spirit of the collection is both covetable and precious," Williamson adds, picking out a bias-cut graphic butterfly print dress, which references an outfit from his first ever show in 1997, among his favourite pieces.

Margareta van den Bosch, creative advisor at H&M says: "I think people will really love this collection. I love the way Matthew mixed prints in the dresses, and the colour clocking of the tailoring. It's very elegant, but there are lots of things you can wear in a really relaxed way too."

And if you do miss out the first time round (this collection is bound to sell out fast), there's no need to worry - a second summer instalment of the collaboration (featuring more beachwear pieces) will be available from May 14 and, for the first time in H&M's designer collaboration history, will be on sale in all of its stores.

    VIA Style.com

    Trend List; Spring/Summer '09.

    The Dress:
    • It'll be breezy and unstructured rather than rigid and fitted.
    • The prints that made waves on the catwalks include the paisley.
    • Tunics, Blouses, Grecian style shirts.
    • The season will start with the slim pants and it will take a lot of push by designers to finally succumb to the wide leg.
    • Details such as smocking make a come back and pearls stay where they are, IN.
    The Jewelry:
    • 'Filigree' style jewelry in IN. Pieces from this kind give a mesh effect.
    • Bangles are here to stay from Spring through to Summer.
    • Earrings, rings and Bangles etc. are making a statement with Gold, yes it's here to stay.
    • Rings get a new life line too. Statement rings with acrylics, semi precious and unusual stones are trendy.
    The Shoe:
    • Strappy Sandals are making a come back. But beware of your foot type, you don't want your flesh poking out from each line.
    • Shoes should be Block colors i.e. one color. 'Rang Barangi' and OTT embellished shoes stay out.
    • Heels will be major although flats will be seen due to the season.
    The Bag:
    • The bag makes an understated statement.
    • Away with the flashy lines such as Monogram by LV and Coach.
    • In with the very classy Chanel or relatively new Balenciaga.
    The Accessories:
    • Keep it low, no need to fuss an outfit.
    • As long as your style can afford it go for a brooch. The Chanel flower being a cult favorite.
